ITV Chart Show - Top Ten (24th November 1990)

I was never a fan of David Lynch's Twin Peaks, maybe it was abit too weird for me. However the soundtrack was fantastic, especially Julee Cruise's "Falling". Julee Cruise was only known for singing in David Lynch's films, but when Twin Peaks came on British TV, she had a massive hit with the theme song. The song was so atmospheric and very dreamy. Not alot of songs like that become hits, but this was the exception.

Since Twin Peaks, Julee Cruise has done her own songs and albums, but has never really reached the success of "Falling". David Lynch on the other hand still makes weird films, which are not for everyone's taste. I do remember an episode of One Foot in the Grave, when Victor Meldrew and his wife saw a missing foot and told the forensic team, "What is this, David Lynch's version of Cinderella". That perfectly describes David Lynch's movies !!!!

As noticed on this chart, there was alot of awful tunes !!! Gazza's Fog on the Tyne certainly wasn't ear pleasing. Vanilla's Ice Ice Baby was even worse. Overall 1990 personally wasn't a great year for music, compared to other years.
