ITV Chart Show - Rock Chart (16th March 1991)

What a contrast this rock chart had. It had metal bands from Brazil (Sepultura) and Germany (Helloween) and not so metal bands like Vixen and Warrant. Warrant decided to re-released Cherry Pie in this March 1991 chart after their original UK release in November 1990 did not do that well. Why did they bother re-releasing it, it was bad enough anyway !!!

Vixen on the other hand were hot chicks, who seemed to make worser music than Warrant. They kinda reminded me of a cartoon series of a teenage girl rock band that was shown on UK TV in the 80's and 90's.

Megadeth as always were the heavy side of the metal genre. Obviously not as heavy as Death Metal, but their music surprisingly was quite good in the late 80's/early 90's. I guess I was a teenage metal fan, who really didn't like listening to mainstream music. Megadeth was formed after Dave Mustaine was sacked from Metallica in the early 80's. There have always been competition between Metallica and Megadeth, but Metallica in my opinion was much better, because they had melody and the heavy side of metal. They also had brillant albums, which Megadeth really didn't have.

In the Metallica documentary shown in 2004, Dave Mustaine even admitted Megadeth were always a second behind Metallica in everything. I suspected Dave didn't want those comments to be edited in the documentary. He probably was expecting that it would have been edited out. Oh how wrong he was. Although I did felt sorry for him !!
